This is a drawing I did of Joe Strummer of the Punk rock band The Clash. When I scanned it, I cut off a lot of the words because it was too long to scan in one piece and because I find the words to be important, I'm going to write them here. I also made even the white look a bit "gritty" because I thought it fit his personality.
The words are from a part of the radio show he had.

"People can change anything they want to. And that means everything in the world. People are running about following their little tracks, I am one of them, but we've all got to stop just following our own little mouse trail.
People can do anything, this is something that I am beginning to learn! People are out there doing bad things to each other, it's because they're being dehumanized, it's time to take the humanity back into the center of the ring! Follow that for a time! Greed, it ain't going anywhere! They should have that on a big billboard across Time Square. Without people, you're nothing."

i think your drawings look better and better and you said you coudnt draw realistic :P
i really like his quote he sounds like a smart guy

and i love how your darks are almost black it makes a really cool contrast against the white and the letters

Oh, he was..I really wish he was still alive. He had his own radio show for a few years and everything. He was in one of the first punk rock bands, The Clash :)

He had a hole in his heart, except he didn't know about it and no one else did either until after he died. It has been said, however, that it's crazy he lived as long as he did, though, since most people who did not know they had that would have died in their 20's; he died when he was 50.

its amazing that he survied so long :O
its a pretty poetic way to die when i think about it "i died from a whole in my heart " EPIC :o

hehe i went on a youtube clash spree ^o^ my favs so far are somebody got murdered,straight to hell,rock the casbah, and london calling
i love finding out about new bands ..well not new lol clash isnt new but its new to me lol because before you sent me links and stuff the only song i knew from them was "should i stay or should i go" (pretty sad)

I love how you drew his hand over his head with the shadow. It makes much more interesting than most celebrity portraits. You also did a great job on the details, like the fingernails.
